It’s no secret that the leader of the free world loves to eat. You could even go so far as to call him a foodie. He has been referred to by the media as the First Eater, Chowhound-in-Chief, Executive Dining Officer, and President Obeef.

President Obama and the First Lady have been spotted eating at some of the finest dining establishments in the nation, but they’ve also been known to enjoy chowing down on cheeseburgers, fries, and ice cream. The President’s love for cheeseburgers is so great, in fact, that there is actually an entire blog dedicated to photos of him eating them.

So, if you’re interested in eating the same burger or steak (yes, he really likes his red meat) or snowcone as President Barack Obama himself, look no further.

Ben’s Chili Bowl (Washington, D.C.)

The President ate at Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington D.C. prior to his 2009 inauguration. He ordered the half-smoke chili dog, and you can buy a print of him eating it or watch watch a video.

Charcoal Pit (Wilmington, Delaware)

At the Charcoal Pit, the President ordered one of his favorites, a cheeseburger and fries. These are two of the restaurant’s specialties, as are milkshakes and other hot sandwiches.

Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe (Boston, Massachusetts)

This restaurant is an iconic Boston institution that’s been in business since the 1920s. Charlie’s Sandwich Shoppe serves delicious breakfast and brunch food, but Mr. President ventured here to get his cheeseburger fix during a trip to Massachusetts.

Dairy Godmother (Alexandria, Virginia)

The President and his daughters have traveled the Dairy Godmother for its signature Wisconsin-style frozen yogurt. Their order included a brownie sundae, a vanilla waffle cone, and a vanilla sundae with hot fudge and almonds. And the ice cream parlor proudly displays the chair that Obama sat in.

Deb’s Ice Cream & Deli (Cedar Rapids, Iowa)

When the President visited Deb’s Ice Cream & Deli, he was amazed and impressed by the giant, homemade waffle cones. He got ice cream for his entire team that day, and the staff at Deb’s loved him so much that named a flavor after him: Barack Mint Chip.

Del Ray Pizzeria (Del Ray, Virginia)

The pizza at Del Ray’s Pizzeria is known for being awesome and for being made with super fresh ingredients, so it’s no wonder the President made a stop here. This sports bar also has delicious salads and a huge selection of craft beers.

Duff’s Famous Wings (Buffalo, New York)

If you go to Buffalo, New York, you’re pretty much required to get buffalo wings. And President Obama made sure to follow this rule, stopping at Duff’s Famous Wings. You can even watch a video of him getting his take-out.

El Mago De La Fritas (West Miami, Florida)

To get his Cuban food fix, Mr. President has stopped by El Mago De Las Fritas in Miami. The restaurant is loved for both its sweet and its savory dishes; fan favorites include the flan and the tortilla callejera.

Fireflies Restaurant (Alexandria, Virginia)

We’re not sure what the President orders when he goes to Fireflies, but everything on the menu sounds great, from the apple streusel waffles to the BLST (bacon, lettuce, salmon and tomato). Hopefully his visit was on a Sunday morning because there’s always live bluegrass music for customers to enjoy while eating their food.

Five Guys (Washington, D.C.)

Yeah, the leader of the free world likes fast food, too. At Five Guys, the President gets his usual cheeseburger here, and he also brings back food for his friends in the White House. Watch him go on one of his famous burger runs here.

Good Stuff Eatery is another of the President’s favorite D.C. burger spots. And the owner of the restaurant has even created a Prez Obama Burger, which is a bacon blue cheese burger with horseradish mayo and a sweet and sour red onion marmalade.

Gregg’s Restaurant (Providence, Rhode Island)

If you’re craving chocolate, Gregg’s Restaurant is the place to go. Their “Death by Chocolate” cake is famous, and the President has ordered an entire one to share with his crew on Air Force One.

At Harp & Celt Irish Pub & Restaurant President Obama enjoyed one of the classic meals. He chowed down on a dish of shepherd’s pie and sipped on a cold Guinness, just as one should at an Irish pub.

Island Snow (Kailua, Hawaii)

Island Snow is an Obama family favorite. When they travel to Hawaii, the Obamas like grabbing snow cones from this local shop. And the President orders his very own menu item, a mix of guava orange, lanikai lime, and choo choo cherry known as the Snowbama.

Even off the mainland, President Obama needs his cheeseburger fix. At Kau ‘Aina, he’s been known to enjoy the monstrous one half pound cheeseburgers, and of course a side of fries.

MacArthur’s produces some of the best soul food in Chicago, and the Obamas are certainly fans. The family has been known to enjoy the signature chicken wings, in addition to other MacArthur’s classics like meatloaf, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, and cornbread.

Matt’s Bar in Minneapolis is famous for its Jucy Lucy, and that is exactly what the President ordered and enjoyed there. He very clearly loves his cheeseburgers, so it should come as no surprise that he would love a burger filled with cheese.

R. J. Grunt’s is one of Mr. and Mrs. Obama’s favorite Chicago restaurants. It’s a popular and family friendly venue with very tasty food. And it’s credited with first introducing the concept of the salad bar in 1970.

Fried chicken and waffles is a comfort meal that no one can pass up, the President of the United States included. At Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles, the President actually has his order named after him. An Obama Special is a waffle with three fried chicken wings, and it’s so good that even Jay Leno has heard about it.

Ross’ 24 Hour Restaurant (Bettendorf, Iowa)

Ross’ 24 Hour Restaurant has been an Iowa institution since 1938. It’s famous for its Magic Mountains which are pieces of Texas toast piled high with grilled beef, French fries, cheese sauce, and chopped onions. The President’s order is a Volcano, a Magic Mountain topped with hot and spicy chili.

If you’re in Cincinnati and you want chili, you head to Skyline Chili. And if you really want to indulge, you order a coney, a chili dog with mustard and onions absolutely smothered with cheddar cheese. Try one, Obama has.
